About Marguerite

Musician, Marguerite Conti, is a music educator, composer, producer, and publisher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Sierra Nevada College and her Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University. She is an active member of the Kitsap and Seattle Chapters of the Washington State Music Teachers Association as well as a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and the Society for Research in Music Education.

Before relocating to Washington State's Olympic Peninsula in 2023, Marguerite was a longtime resident of Seattle, a past board member of the Seattle Music Teachers Association, the Seattle Folklore Society, and served as a Steering Committee Member for the Seattle Performing Songwriters Collective. She had served as a volunteer for the Seattle Public Schools Music Program and was Adjunct Music Faculty at Shoreline Community College teaching guitar.

She opened Rare Earth Music Studio in Port Ludlow, Washington in May of 2024. Marguerite teaches guitar, piano, voice, composition, ukulele, mandolin and music theory. She is the author of Music in the Westward Expansion: Songs of Heart and Place on the American Frontier (McFarland, 2022) and creator of Hear It, Sing It, Move It: A North American Folk Song Collection (2018).
