About Jordan

Teaching vocal technique is quite literally, my calling; as in "ding-dong", you're a voice teacher. In my early days of moving to New York, I found myself working a stable and well-paying job at an investment bank, yet felt deeply devoid of purpose. Music had been put on the back burner while my days were filled with ticker-tape stock prices.

One day, my roommate made me take a job satisfaction quiz. According to the quiz, I was born to be a music teacher. I admitted that prior to moving to NYC, I had taught voice lessons because it made me truly happy. At that very moment, the doorbell rang — a Western Union telegram announcing that my very first tenor student was singing with his choir at Carnegie Hall and had been given the tenor solo. It became clear in that moment what I was meant to do: be the best singing teacher I could possibly be.

Thanks to the dedicated teachers, researchers, and scientists at the Vocal Foundation, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the New York Singing Teachers Association, and the Acoustical Society, there is always more to study and deeper layers of vocal understanding to penetrate.
